Our Story
45+ Years of Service and Counting…
Guardian Bastille was formed in 1999 as a business-unit of our long-established 3M Window Film Dealership, New England Sun Control. As New England Sun Control rose from humble beginnings in 1975 as a Rhode Island-based window tinting company to the premier window film and glazing enhancement provider in New England, it was only natural to eye expansion into other territories in the United States.
Originally, Guardian Bastille was developed to raise awareness of the health and safety benefits offered by window film and to service the growing commercial demand for Security Window Film throughout the United States. We quickly realized that our window film and applied graphics capabilities were in demand from a much broader client base — which grew to include National Retailers, Multi-State Real Estate Firms, and Government Agencies. No longer just a New England-centric business, we had the knowledge base and a great team of experts that would enable us to successfully expand the Guardian Bastille brand.
Blessed with good fortune, we were selected by Starbucks to install Security Window Film on 20 retail locations in Salt Lake City prior to the commencement of the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics. Guardian Bastille was now off and running as a National Provider of Window Film and Applied Graphics solutions. Not only did this opportunity establish us as the National Window Film and Graphics provider for Starbucks, but we also acquired new clients such as Petco, Staples, Office Max, Bed Bath and Beyond, Buy Buy Baby, Christmas Tree Shops, and many more. Our new client relationships were bred from years of hard work, reliable service, and unmatched technical expertise.
Fast forward to today, Guardian Bastille has expanded our business to include applied sun control, security and decorative window films, production and installation of custom window and wall graphics, energy audits, and correlated energy services, and the specification and installation of anti-intrusion and bullet-resistant security glazing retrofit systems. We continue to service a wide range of public and private businesses – including, but not limited to, the financial, educational, institutional, and retail industries from our offices in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., South Florida, and beyond.
